10 ways to ask the same question

I love questions. I love to ask questions. Why? (See, I just asked one!)

It’s because they get me thinking. They get the wheels of my mind turning. Sometimes when I am stuck, I sit down with pen and paper and write questions to myself.

I seldom have any answers, but that’s not really a problem.

The end game is the questions themselves. That’s because questions tune the soul; they initiate the quest. They get things moving.

Ask a question – to God, the Universe, to your deepest self – and then wait and see what comes.

Of course you could also use questions as journal prompts. Write the question at the top of the page, and let your mind roam and your hand scribble and scrawl.

One of my favorite Camino questions is: WHY? As in why are you walking the Camino?

But that question can be hard to answer. We don’t always know why. Many of us simply feel called to make the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Or we feel compelled to go for a long walk, but we don’t know why.

So, today I thought I would share a few questions I use to dig deeper into those hidden reasons, or motivations, for walking the Camino de Santiago.

Maybe you’d like to grab a pen or take these queries for a walk . . .

  1. Why do I want to walk the Camino?
  2. Why do I want to walk the Camino now?
  3. What about the Camino is calling me to it?
  4. Why did I say YES to walking the Camino?
  5. What would make this pilgrimage life-changing or transformational for me?
  6. What is motivating me to do this?
  7. What does this journey mean to me?
  8. What do I want more of in my life?
  9. What do I want less of in my life?
  10. What would “success” look like on the Camino?

Got any questions to add to this list? I would love to hear them! Or drop me an email and share with me your WHY. nancy@thecaminoexperience.com
